Devi Gita Ed 2
Swami Vijnanananda
The Devi Gita is a sacred Hindu scripture that elucidates the nature of the Divine Mother. It is an excerpt from the "Srimad Devi Bhagavatam," the most significant Purana for the Saktas, followers of Saktism, one of the denominations of Hinduism dedicated to the worship of the Mother Goddess.
The Srimad Devi Bhagavatam consists of 12 books, with the final ten chapters (Chapters 31 - 40) of the 7th book forming the Devi Gita. Presented in the form of a dialogue, this text holds special reverence among Saktas and is also studied by scholars and spiritual seekers for its profound insights into the nature of the Divine.
The English translation of the Srimad Devi Bhagavatam, which includes the Devi Gita, was undertaken by Swami Vijnanananda in 1915. The text of this edition is sourced from his translation.
